Day one

 Hello, This is just a warm up test. It’s January 1, 2018 and It’s time to start writing about my experience after my stroke. I’ve had some interesting revelations and barriers that appeared became challenges to overcome.
I hope my journey is interesting to you if you decide to follow it.
 October 2017,  Back in New Mexico and picking up where I left off. Cap off the sewer pipes I won't be using but this is getting ahead in the story

Daily life in the new year

I walked my mile on the tread mill but I can see it has to be everyday to start to feel like I’m getting better.   It’s been one and a half years since I had my major stroke. I was on our land in Northern New Mexico getting all of the utilities in. The day before I had back filled the 120 foot leech line for the septic system. Just as I in for dinner my neighbor shows up with his backhoe to back fill the septic box. So it was a long day  Nice to be done though. Last night watching a Korean Drama.  I slept well and had my morning coffee. I was ready to go out to finish a couple of pipe caps for future sewer connections when I watched my phone fall out of my hand and even though I said help in my head my wife told me later it was garbled. I hit the floor and could hear her saying to the 911 person that I had a stroke. More soon.

As I said in my last post I woke up and had breakfast and was on my way out when I had my stroke. I was laying on the floor of our Airstream trailer as my dog, Lucky, sniffed at me with a worried look. I told him it was all OK but I don't think he believed me. Kate was getting dressed because we were going to meet the ambulance. Mora is a very rural area and when she called 911 the ambulance for our area was tied up somewhere else. They were sending an ambulance from 40 miles away. I began to crawl out towards the car but not being fully aware of what worked and didn't work it was a struggle. Who thinks you will have to learn to get up off of the floor all over again. Stairs are never the same, seen as a danger more than great aerobic exercise.  In San Francisco, we would walk Lucky from the fortune cookie parking lot, each stall has a fortune, up Vallejo St. from Chinatown to the Vallejo steps. The Vallejo steps end at the top of Russian Hill. Then we'd walk over to Geo...
